First Aid – Very Useful & Important Information

The relief, treatment, or treatment that is done before a doctor or ambulance for any disease, injury, or accident is called First Aid. The collection of tools used during this treatment is called First Aid Kit.

First Aid has 3 objectives:


Preserving life. The primary objective of first aid is to protect the life of the patient / sick / injured person.


Preventing further harm which means preventing the condition from getting worse. For this it is necessary to keep the external and internal situation under control. Therefore, externally, the patient / injured should be taken away due to his or her suffering or suffering (especially in case of accident / natural disaster) and to protect his / her physical and mental state internally from deteriorating.


Promoting recovery means helping in getting rid of disease. By giving medicines and ointment to the patient, making him healthy and fully healthy is the ultimate objective of First Aid.

On starting first aid, firstly 3 things are given importance for the examination of the patient / injured, which is abbreviated as First Aid’s ABC.


Airway. The first objective of Airway First Aid is related to the protection of life. To save one’s life, it is necessary to make sure that there is no obstruction in his airway.


Breathing. After checking the airways, it should be seen that the patient / injured is in a conscious state and has no difficulty in breathing.


Circulation. Finally, it is seen whether the patient / injured is having blood circulation or not, for which his pulse rate is monitored.

After the ABC check, 3 B’s Breathing, Bleeding, Bones are noticed and then treated according to the situation.

Fractures, bone dislocation, poisoning, cuts and wounds, burns, bleeding, heat stroke, cold wave, choking, animal and insect bites, muscle strain i.e. when the bone breaks / slides, burns, poisonous elements in the body, cuts or On peeling, first aid is given on the bite of an animal. It is very important to have a first aid kit to overcome any such condition, accident, disease or emergency. In such a situation, if you have a first aid kit, then you can get rid of that accident / disease immediately.

First Aid Kit

What tools to keep in the First Aid Kit depends on the knowledge and experience of the user.

Generally the following supplies / equipment / tools are kept in the kit.

– Band-Aid for every size

– Cotton Wool

– Small scissors and tweezers

– Plastic / rubber gloves

– Gauze square

– Antiseptic lotion like savlon or dettol

– Safety pins

– Thermometer

– Surgical tape

– Antibacterial ointment

– Eye-pad

– Sterile eyewash

– ORS (oral rehydration salt) / electral / glucose powder

– Aloe Vera gel (for burns)

– Headache, fever, abdominal pain, vomiting, cold-cough, pain relievers – common medicines like calpol, avomine, paracetamol, aspirin, crocin.

Put all these materials in a clean, clean, strong and waterproof box. Make a red tape or red cross mark with color on the First Aid Kit so that your kit can be easily identified from the other accessories / boxes. Do write the name and number of doctor and ambulance. Check the expiry date of medicines and other items every 6 months and change as per requirement.
